The Kingdom of Leonathis doesn't conceptualize race as we do in our modern world. Much like in ancient societies such as Greece, identity is rooted in culture, language, and shared traditions—not in skin color or modern racial categories. That said, I’ve always personally envisioned Anya as Black and Zarek as Mediterranean in a real-world context. Anya's warm brown appearance draws inspiration from the highlands of Ethiopia (Amhara or Tigray regions), while Zarek's golden-sand complexion evokes northern Moroccan (Arab-Amazigh) heritage. Their full names subtly reflect these influences, though they remain completely and uniquely Leonathian characters native to my fantasy world.

I’m very much a plotter at heart, however I am a plotter who leaves plenty of space for inspiration and discovery along the way. Some elements of the story are clear from the very beginning, while others emerge naturally during revisions or as the characters surprise me. It’s a balance of structure and spontaneity, aka, the best of both worlds! When it comes to writing speed, I tend to move slowly and intentionally. I don’t do rapid releases; I prefer to give each story the time it needs to become the best version of itself. Realistically, releasing one book a year is the pace that allows me to create work I’m truly proud of.
